Overview Support a data science and research team responsible for developing methodologies, tools, and models to help predict the cost associated with current and future space system architectures including spacecraft, ground stations, and associated support. This role involves working both independently and collaboratively with teams, data analysis, writing code, engage directly with customers, collaborating with members of the Space Cost Community, documenting findings, presenting results, and working with cost estimators on how developed models, tools, and other solutions work. Responsibilities Assess requirements, determine necessary resources to accomplish task, hypothesize solutions, develop solution, and report findings Develop and maintain forecasting and estimating models Develop and maintain data pipelines Develop R-shiny applications Develop algorithms for data analysis Apply supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques Communicate with various levels of Government leadership Perform analysis for U.S. government acquisition programs Cost estimating relationship and cost model development Cost and schedule risk and uncertainty analysis Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions Train and mentor team members and other stakeholders on the use of developed models, tools, and solutions Skills Required 5 years relevant experience required, 1 year of space systems experience desired Experience with Space Systems or U.S. Government acquisition processes Proficient in R and/or Python; able to point to specific examples of algorithms developed for data exploration/analysis/presentation Proficient in MS Office Suite Detailed, organized individual Good communication, presentation, and visualization skills Interest and ability to work in a dynamic work environment Ability to adapt to daily priority changes while not jeopardizing long term priorities Ability to perform ad-hoc research projects independently, summarize results in a written report, and present to an audience Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition experience a plus General familiarity with IT, Cloud, and querying SQL databases are a plus U.S. citizenship required Bachelor's degree required, preferably in mathematics, statistics, engineering, data science, economics, or the sciences; a master's degree is preferred DoD Secret level security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance Education Bachelor's degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences. El Segundo, CA Budget Analysts Regular | $80,000.00-$110,000.00 Year Preferred Employer 1 week ago Overview We are seeking a highly skilled professional with excellent analytical and communication skills to provide schedule analysis support to the Milcomm & Position, Navigation and Timing (MCPNT) Program and leadership. Responsibilities The Schedule Analyst will perform a wide variety of schedule management duties for MCPNT programs. Work closely with Government Program Office teams and contractors to assess IMS information for compliance and performance to program baselines. Responsible for development and integration of program and enterprise level schedule, schedule publishing, schedule analysis, and reporting of results to senior leadership. Skills Required A minimum eight (8) years of schedule analysis experience to include a minimum of three (3) years working in a space program environment. Familiarity with systems engineering principles and practices, experience with large-scale development and test programs, risk analysis, and cost estimating is a plus Requires familiarity with schedule management best practices such as critical path methodology, schedule quality, and schedule execution metrics. Familiarity with the Planning & Scheduling Excellence Guide (PASEG), GAO Scheduling Assessment Guide, GAO Cost Estimating & Assessment Guide, NDIA Guide to Managing Program using Predictive Measures, Integrated Program Management Data Analysis Report (IPMDAR), and ANSl/EIA Standard 748 Knowledge of the DCMA 14-Point Assessment. Must be proficient using MS Office Suite (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project), OnePager Pro, and have strong verbal and written communications skills. Familiarity with Business Intelligence programs (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Jira), Systems Engineering practices and space systems development is a plus. Must be able to work autonomously as well as within a team/collaborative environment.
