Adjunct instructor - advisor role for the Capstone Systems Project class for the Master of

Description Heinz College for Information Systems and Public Policy and the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University seeks an adjunct instructor for an advisor role for the Capstone System's Project class for the Master of Entertainment Industry Management program. The position would be for a Capstone Project Advisor (Adjunct). The Capstone Project is a two-semester applied research project that represents the final requirement of the Master of Entertainment Industry Management (MEIM) Program. The Capstone provides the opportunity for students to apply the sum knowledge and skills gained from the MEIM program to real world issues facing the entertainment industry. Working in teams, and in consultation with industry professionals, students will define, outline and deliver an in-depth examination of a specific research topic, fulfilling a series of deliverables over the course of the project, and adhering to established research project formats and guidelines. This is a dual-semester course that will take place in the fall 2026 (3-units) and spring 2027 (9-units). Please do not apply unless you would be available for both semesters. This would be a full-semester (14-week course). Other than one to two monthly mandatory brief sessions much of the class meeting time can be flexible and arranged directly between the instructor and the student team (typically 3-5 members).

Salary:

Fall 2026: $2500/ Spring 2027 $4,000 Qualifications The instructor should be an industry practitioner or academic with entertainment experience as all of the projects are related to the for-profit business of the entertainment industry. Recent experience in teaching graduate or professional courses is preferred. A relevant master's degree is preferred.
