This is a full-time, hybrid position located in San Diego. This is a grant funded role through April 30, 2030. The data-driven Research Scientist will focus on supporting federally funded research projects and grant applications using skills in analyzing large-scale omics, clinical, and imaging datasets using rigorous statistical and machine learning approaches.
The Research Scientist will:
- Design, conduct and assist with biomedical research or experimental protocols to improve health across diverse populations.
- Partner with internal and external constituents to understand key requirements, plan and execute research projects, and produce actionable data to support strategic initiatives and drive continuous performance improvement.
- Provide advanced, integrated analytics in support of research and organizational objectives.
- Source, manage, and analyze large amounts of unstructured data; synthesize and communicate results to facilitate research data analysis and data-driven decision making.
- Design data modeling processes, create algorithms and predictive models to extract key data, and analyze the data and share insights with clinical, research, and operational stakeholders.
- Collaborate on manuscript development and dissemination of research results.
- The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with collaborators to improve outcomes and performance.
- The position will work closely with the leadership team to identify strategic funding priorities, identify potential funding streams, develop and submit proposals, including but not limited to NIH and foundation proposals.
