Research & Museum Assistant

Calaveras County Historical Society Research Assistant.

Part Time:

Wednesday-Friday. 9:30am-4pm

Description:

This position requires the applicant to fulfill research requests for the public and society members, analyze and catalog historical artifacts, assist with membership meetings, assist with school tours, and work under the supervision of the Executive Director and independently on certain tasks.

Example of Duties:

Conducting Research Handling Artifacts Cataloging Artifacts Help build and Maintain Displays Welcome and assist guests Assist with school tours Assist with Historical Society Business Answer emails and phone calls in a timely and professional manner

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of:

Cash Handling POS Systems Professional Web Etiquette Ability to: Work independently and with a team Review, analyze, interpret, and implement procedures related to research and museum projects.

Education, Training, Experience:

Equivalent to graduation from high school. College experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Special Requirements:

Possession of an appropriate California driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.

Probation Period:

New Employees remain in a probationary status for 90 days.

Holidays:

7 paid holidays per year.
