Job Description
This position provides administrative support to PPIC s research department in their mission to inform and improve public policy in California through independent, objective, nonpartisan analysis. Specifically, this position is part of the research operations team and supports the Vice President of Research and the Economic Policy Center. The position will be split roughly 50/50 across these two areas of work. This position works closely with PPIC s research leadership and staff across a variety of policy topics and collaborates closely with other members of the research operations team. The position also collaborates with key staff across PPIC including Communications, Development, Finance & Administration, Government Affairs, and the President s Office, and participates in selected institute strategic initiatives. This full-time position reports to the Senior Research Operations Manager. This position is based in the San Francisco office, and hybrid work is possible. Occasional travel to PPIC s Sacramento office is required. Responsibilities - Administrative Assistant Support outreach tracking, contact management, and outreach analysis for the policy directors and VP of Research Scheduling for the research operations team and/or for the research teams reporting to the VP of Research, as needed Respond to general inquiries to the VP of Research from external contacts, funders, media, policymakers, the public, and staff Provide support for logistics and planning of on-site meetings for the research group, in both the San Francisco and Sacramento locations Assist in research project management, supporting the Research Operations Manager as needed. Additional administrative tasks, as assigned Responsibilities - Center Administrator Management and upkeep of the center s contacts and distributions Event planning including public events, workshops, and internal meetings Processing and tracking contracts, expenses, invoices, and travel requests Overseeing general administration of the center activities, including the EPC team workplan and research project process Process time sheets for the EPC team Scheduling, expense reporting, travel planning, and outreach tracking for the Vice President and Director of the Economic Policy Center Qualifications At least two years of experience supporting executive level manager, ideally in a research environment Solid computer skills, including MS Office Suite, database, and project tracking software; Salesforce experience is a plus Excellent written and verbal communications skills Experience managing multiple projects and responsibilities Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, and interact effectively with colleagues Must be comfortable taking initiative, delivering high quality output in a timely manner, and working in an ever-evolving environment. In determining an offer level for a candidate, PPIC considers a variety of factors including but not limited to the specific role and associated responsibilities; internal equity; and a candidate s work experience, education, training, skills and other expertise.
