Serving communities across Connecticut since 1970, we provide comprehensive, evidence-based treatment, including medication-assisted treatment, counseling, mental health services, primary care, and recovery support.

Job Summary:
The Research Assistant, under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator and the general supervision of the Principal Investigator or APT Director of Research, acts as the participant recruiter and evaluator for research studies with individuals with MOUD (medications for Opioid Use Disorder). The hired individual will interact with participants, schedule appointments, and conduct assessments. This individual will implement, track research study procedures, and troubleshoot when necessary. This position may require community outreach, random assignment, co-facilitating group assessments/interventions, locating participants, reviewing clinical records for research information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collect, enter, manage, and prepare research data for analysis and reporting. Recruit participants through outreach methods such as flyers, advertisements, and social media. Screen, contact, schedule, enroll, and obtain informed consent from study participants. Conduct baseline, follow-up, and longitudinal assessments; provide participant incentives. Administer interviews, supervise self-report assessments, and collect biological samples (e.g., urine drug screens, breath alcohol tests, HIV rapid tests). Maintain study records, participant files, logs, and assessment materials. Monitor data quality, coordinate study activities, and track recruitment and interview progress. Manage data entry, reporting, petty cash records, and participant payment documentation. Perform administrative duties, prepare study materials, maintain inventory, and order supplies. Follow safety procedures and complete required training.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in psychology, science, or related human service field. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft suite) Knowledge of data management and analysis software.
