The University of Miami's College of Arts and Sciences Department of Biology has an exciting opportunity for a temporary full time Research Assistant 2 to work in Coral Gables, FL. The Research Assistant 2 assists with and explores innovations to research and strives to improve implementation and family outcomes. The Research Assistant 2 ensures compliance with University policies, rules, and regulations to meet federal, state, and local standards pertaining to safety and ethics.

Core Responsibilities:

Plans and implements research experiments, according to research protocols, to assure high-quality scientific results in support of applicable project goals. Assists with assessing the feasibility of implementing innovations. Assesses data trends and develops reports and presentations. Supports the initiation of new research by reviewing and synthesizing literature. Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment. Assists in the preparation of scientific papers, reports, and manuscripts. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Department Specific Functions Familiarity with methods for surveying reptiles and amphibians is desired. Willingness to work outdoors in the South Florida summer (hot and humid conditions) is required. Background knowledge of wildlife studies, including birds, fish, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians will be given additional consideration so that contributions can be made to designing future projects. Core Qualifications:

High School Diploma Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required

Technical Proficiency:

Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
