Position Highlights:
Responsible for data analysis using innovative procedures and protocols with supervision. Research Associates perform data analysis, participate in meetings with PI and other team members to evaluate and interpret the validity of data and evaluate laboratory procedures. Research Associates prepare progress reports, write protocols, create presentations and assist in the publication of research whether at scientific meetings or in the form of manuscripts.The Ideal Candidate:
Should be able to assist in training new staff in areas of expertise, and serve as a resource to other lab members. Must have the ability to plan, organize and coordinate assignments. Should have excellent verbal and written communication. Successful candidate will be expected to exhibit individual initiative, work independently; be technically proficient and accurate; effectively communicate in both written reports and presentations; initiate and ensure compliance with applicable safety procedures; and possess attention to detail.Responsibilities:
Hands-on research experience, maintain laboratory equipment in a clean working order, including performing instrument standardization documented by written report. Reorder and restock laboratory supplies as needed. Responsible for the preparation of tissues and samples for study under appropriate supervision. Keep current with lab trends and techniques. Follow infection control techniques, for preparation, handling and disposal of as samples. Research Associates collect, annotate, and permanently record raw experiment data and document findings in a timely manner accessible to others on the research team. Research Associates work in a manner compliant with applicable regulations including the protection of patient records; apply standard quality control procedures to assure accuracy of test results; operate, calibrate and perform routine maintenance on specialized equipment; maintain supply inventory; prepare reagents according to laboratory standards.Credentials and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science related field required with prior hands-on research training experience is required. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
