Position Information Classification Title Res Assc-Medical Science II FLSA Exempt FTE 1.00 Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field of science and 2 years of professional experience Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field of science (e.g., Biology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry) and 2 years of professional experience Position Summary Independently performs components of a research program as directed by a senior member of the research team. Involvement in designing certain aspects of research projects as needed. Independently conducts work complementary to the overall research objectives. Participate in training staff in laboratory procedures as needed. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Strong knowledge of tissue culture techniques, cell line maintenance, and monoclonal antibody/protein preparation. Knowledge of microbiological techniques and animal research procedures conducted under BSLII+ conditions. Demonstrated skill in biological sample processing and experimental execution. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and prepare results for scientific presentation. Proficiency in maintaining electronic laboratory notebooks and ensuring data integrity. Effective communication skills to present findings in scientific settings. Ability to adhere to and enforce laboratory safety, compliance, and standard operating procedures. Ability to work independently and contribute to team-based research projects. Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Performance of laboratory experiments, including tissue culture and maintenance of cell lines, preparation and purification of monoclonal antibodies and related proteins. Processing microbial samples and performance of animal studies under BSLII+ conditions. Duties include processing of animal samples, data analysis and preparation of data for presentation. Maintenance of record of experimental procedures and results in electronic laboratory notebooks.
