Job Duties:
The Housing & Neighborhood Prevention Director's Office supports the entire department through planning, coordination, and strategy development and ensures we are continually striving to achieve our mission by obtaining and maintaining needed funds; managing and accounting for all funding; hiring and managing staff effectively; communicating to stakeholders; providing IT tools to accomplish our work; and engaging volunteers and other community resources. The Compliance and Development Officer ensures that federal, state, and local housing regulatory and compliance issues are addressed and is responsible for writing the Department's Five-Year Consolidated Strategic Plan for the Department. Duties may include; Schedule stakeholder meetings Plan public meetings and make presentations Prepare and monitor recipient contracts Research and make changes to the Federal requirements' language Review and write sections of the plan Provide administrative support as needed

Schedule & Hours:
Candidates will work 10-15 hours per week with flexibility to the students schedule. The applicant is responsible to provide their own housing and transportation to and from work during the internship.

Required Education:
Candidates pursuing a degree, preferably graduate level, in acquisitions or project management, political science, law, strategic and urban planning, or closely related field.
Eligibility:
Must be a currently enrolled student ( in an associate's, bachelor's, master's degree or PhD program ) and be in good academic standing as determined by the school, college, or university. Ideal Candidate /
Preferences:
Research methods coursework desired. Strong technical, analytical, and narrative writing skills. Ability to work independently. Confident interpersonal skills. Community-oriented. Knowledge of local/state/federal government regulations ideal.
