- Non-UI Student Working Title Laboratory Research Associate Details Dr.
Specific duties will include:
- Providing laboratory assistance including solution preparation
- Equipment cleaning, washing and maintenance
- Monitoring tests and experiments in a supervised academic research setting
- Cataloging, and cleaning field equipment, and data entry
- Assisting with some general laboratory tasks.
- Prepare media and solutions
- Extract genomic and plasmid DNA, and RNA
- Working with the primary epithelial cell culture from patients with and without obesity
- Performing PCR, Western blot, fluorescent microscopy and culturing microorganisms
- Collecting and analyzing data and be responsible for keeping a laboratory notebook
- Will be responsible for preparing and autoclaving standard laboratory solutions and media Desirable qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge in human anatomy, chemistry, biology
- Pre-dental degree major
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting
- Demonstrated communication skills Work schedule: M-F, between hours of 8:00am
- 5:00pm.
