The Idaho Department of Transportation (ITD) currently has an opportunity for a Research Analyst in Roadway Data . This position will be reporting to the Headquarters office in either Boise or Twin Falls, Idaho. This is a field-based position involving in-person collections and site visits. The primary responsibilities will be collecting short duration counts, working with other field collection crew in validation of continuous count equipment, and assisting with maintaining continuous traffic count devices around the state. Most work will be in the field year-round, and often in the elements hauling equipment up to 50 lbs. This position requires a valid driver's license and up to 60% travel (with occasional overnight stays). Example of Duties Research and troubleshoot equipment issues with permanent count devices, communications equipment, and short-term count devices. Install/inspect/maintain traffic monitoring equipment on-site. Quality check counter data for potential systemic issues. Collect short-term data in the field. Review data in the field with traffic monitoring-based software. Prepare analytical reports, using software solutions such as Excel, Centurion, and Traffic Data Management Software. Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications Good knowledge of:
Research methods Principles of statistics.Experience:
Writing analytical (research) reports or materials Using statistical software or spreadsheet software to perform statistical analysis Supplemental Information The position requires: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Travel up to 60%.Desired skills include:
