Position Overview:
The Department of Computer Science invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. The postdoctoral researcher will conduct cutting-edge research in areas such as cyber-physical systems security, protection of critical infrastructure, and adversarial machine learning. The position will involve collaborating with faculty and graduate students on interdisciplinary research projects, publishing results in high-quality peer-reviewed venues, and contributing to the preparation of external research proposals.
Duties may include:
Conduct original research in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and related areas, including cyber-physical systems security and adversarial machine learning. Publish research findings in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and interdisciplinary research teams on funded and emerging research projects. Contribute to the development and preparation of external research proposals to federal agencies, industry partners, and other funding organizations. Participate actively in the department's research community, including seminars, workshops, and collaborative initiatives. Mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in research activities. Teach up to one course per academic year, depending on departmental needs. Perform other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will join an active research environment in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence and will have opportunities to collaborate with faculty and students on externally funded research projects.
Required Experience:
Demonstrated research experience in cybersecurity or closely related areas, such as artificial intelligence for security, cyber-physical systems security, or adversarial machine learning. Peer-reviewed publications, conference papers, technical reports, or dissertation research in cybersecurity or related fields. Experience conducting experimental, theoretical, or computational research using appropriate programming languages, tools, or frameworks. Experience collaborating with faculty, students, and interdisciplinary research teams in an academic research environment.
Required Education:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
