Google Chrome, Safari Description The Bartke lab is in need of an extra help research assistant, summer term, for continuation of research of endocrine-related genes and dietary interventions in eye health. •This position is ON SITE only• Examples of Duties Perform basic laboratory procedures such as solution preparation, sample processing, pipetting, cell culture support, microscopy, molecular biology techniques, or animal research support (as appropriate and approved). Collect, organize, and record experimental data accurately in laboratory notebooks and electronic databases. Read and discuss scientific literature relevant to assigned research projects. Assist with data analysis, graph preparation, and interpretation of experimental results. Prepare a final presentation summarizing internship activities, research findings, and learning outcomes. Qualifications 1) Must be currently enrolled as a college student. If appointment is to be made during the summer months, individual must show transcript or grade slip verification that s/he was enrolled during the spring semester immediately prior to the appointment (a student ID card is not sufficient.); AND 2) Must have successfully completed no less than 30 semester hours of college coursework, with at least one course in the field of science or biology with related laboratory training; AND 3) Must be 18 years of age or older.
