(IN-CPHR-IUINA) Department Information Learn more about the Division of Clinical Pharmacology Job Summary Performs complex and intricate laboratory experiments while following research techniques and procedures. Develops procedures and protocols in collaboration with leadership. Prepares research reports or analyses for projects. Maintains safety records and ensures safety/compliance procedures and protocols are followed. Provides guidance and support to junior-level staff in laboratory operations. May develop, prepare, and coordinate grant applications and grant-related activities to obtain funding for research projects and related work. Qualifications Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.EDUCATION
Required Bachelor's degree in related field Preferred Master's degree in related fieldWORK EXPERIENCE
Required 3 years of related work experience Preferred 8 years of related work experience which includes complex, intricate animal surgeries SKILLS Required Proficient communication skills Maintains a high degree of professionalism Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills Demonstrates a high commitment to quality Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty Highly thorough and dependable Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure Preferred Experience with mouse surgeries and post-op procedures Excellent writing skills to prepare and present research Ability to use surgical equipment used for mouse colonies Ability to operation MC4000 blood pressure systems Ability to use equipment used for post-op mice care Homodimer knowledge and experience Working Conditions / Demands The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation. Additional Information This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Work Location Indiana University Indianapolis Campus Indianapolis, Indiana Advertised Salary $55,000 - $59,000 per year based on experience and internal equity within the division.
