Job Description

Clinical Laboratory Process Development Associate I Broad Institute paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k), retirement plan United States, Massachusetts, Cambridge May 19, 2026 Description & Requirements The Genomics Platform is dedicated to solving the world's most challenging biomedical problems through the continuous development and investment in cutting edge technology and large-scale genome sequencing research projects that are both challenging and complex. In support of continually changing initiatives, the Process Development Associate I is committed to developing innovative research processes and pursuing the highest quality research to realize the full promise of genomic medicine. Will work to ensure production goals and requirements are met; improve existing protocols through detailed statistical analysis and research observations; investigate alternative solutions and troubleshoot processes as needed; and work to improve upon current workflow processes in creative and effective ways. Works to ensure production goals and requirements are met; improves existing protocols through detailed research observations and troubleshooting works to improve upon current workflow processes in creative and effective ways through the use of appropriate process improvement methods and initiatives, such as Six Sigma, A3 problem solving, Visual Management and Dynamic Work Design. The position will work in the flow cytometry facility within the Genomics Platform. Requires strong communication skills, time management, and pipetting skills. This is a fully onsite position (5 days per week) in Cambridge, MA. There might be an occassional need to travel to Burlington, MA.
Requirements:
  • BS degree in Biology or related discipline required.
  • Working, solid knowledge of primary science, immunology a plus.
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments and the Scientific Method required.
  • Experience in a research laboratory and standard lab equipment required
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving ability, and innovation aptitude required.
  • Working knowledge of computers, databases, and working in a Windows/Mac environment required.
  • Must have strong attention to detail, the ability and multi-task and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work as part of a team required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must thrive in fast-paced environment.
The expected base pay range for this position as listed above is based on a 40 hour per week schedule. Broad provides pay ranges representing its reasonable and good faith estimate of what the organization reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, qualifications, and other factors permissible by law.
