This role is well‑suited for a recent graduate or early‑career professional looking to gain hands‑on experience in cell culture and bioprocessing within a laboratory environment.
The Cell Culture Engineer will support routine laboratory operations, assist with bioreactor setup and maintenance, and execute cell culture studies in small‑scale and pilot‑scale labs under established procedures and team guidance.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine daily maintenance and management of laboratory‑based equipmentAssist with setup, operation, and basic upkeep of small‑scale and pilot‑scale bioreactorsSupport and execute cell culture experiments according to established protocolsPrepare media, perform sampling, and support general lab activitiesCoordinate with vendors and internal teams for scheduled equipment maintenanceFollow SOPs, safety requirements, and proper laboratory documentation practicesAccurately document work and communicate results or issues to the broader teamQualificationsBachelor's degree (B.S.) in a science‑related fieldHands‑on experience performing cell culture studies in a small‑scale or pilot‑scale laboratory environmentExperience assembling, disassembling, cleaning, and washing bioreactors, including associated parts and probesFamiliarity with the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of small‑scale and pilot‑scale bioreactorsExperience in inoculating, feeding, and sampling bioreactors and shake flasksExperience in maintaining routine cell culture passagesExperience running samples on analytical equipment and compiling data and resultsExposure to aseptic techniques, including batching media, autoclaving bioreactors, and calibrating probesProficiency in navigating process control and data acquisition software (e.g., MFCS, DeltaV, ambr) and monitoring trendsExperience documenting work in an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN)Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
