This role supports scientific research activities by assisting with experiment setup, monitoring, and data collection in greenhouse, laboratory, and controlled environment settings. The position contributes to plant and pathogen-related studies, ensuring compliance with USDA guidelines. The individual will work closely with scientists while supporting daily research operations and project completion. Job Description Assist scientists with experiment design, setup, monitoring, and data collection for greenhouse, laboratory, and controlled environment studies. Support treatment application, planting, processing, and disposal of plants and pathogens per USDA guidelines. Assist in training new team members as needed. Collect and record data to support ongoing research activities. Maintain clean and compliant laboratory, greenhouse, and controlled environment spaces. Participate in group and project meetings. Assist with scheduling and development of project timelines. Communicate updates, changes, and issues in a timely manner. Collaborate effectively in multi-project teams and work independently when required. May lead independent projects under supervision. Perform a variety of research support tasks with a degree of creativity and flexibility. Skills Required 1-2 years of greenhouse and/or laboratory agricultural testing experience preferred Aseptic technique Plant pathology Entomology Greenhouse experience Agricultural research experience Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Ability to work independently Strong communication and organizational skills Strong work ethic and attention to detail Ability to follow instructions and scientific protocols Experience working in team-oriented research environments Willingness to support multiple projects simultaneously Ability to maintain compliance with USDA guidelines Education/Training/Certifications Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required Additional Requirements Must pass a drug screening and background check
Shift Start:
8:00 AM Onsite with a mix of office work and field work at the test farm; field time varies by project phase.
Pay Rate/Salary Estimated Salary:
$27.21 to $35.21 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors. HarveStaff LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
