Job Description
Description The Bauer Leadership Center (BLC) and the Organizational Behavior group at the Olin Business School, Washington University in St. Louis , are seeking applicants for our postdoctoral fellowship in leadership research. The person selected will lead research initiatives within the Bauer Leadership Center and will collaborate with members of the Organizational Behavior group. The primary criterion for selection is research expertise in leadership and leadership development, broadly defined. This in-person position is expected to begin in July/August of 2026 and continue for 2 years. Salary and benefits are competitive, and the position will have access to research funding, including for independent projects. Core Responsibilities:
Research Leadership :
Collaborate with BLC faculty to design and conduct research on topics of relevance to the Center's research agenda. Research projects may consider both basic and applied research questions related to leadership and leadership development, and other related areas of research, in student and non-student populations. Research activities include conducting literature reviews, designing studies, submitting IRB proposals, collecting data, data analysis, writing and presenting reports, and co-authoring scholarly papers and presentations.Assessment and Data Management :
Oversee the BLC's assessment and data center, which creates, maintains, and helps to administer high-quality assessments used in leadership instruction and research at the Olin Business School and Washington University. Duties include streamlining existing leadership assessments, designing new survey instruments, formatting professional reports for stakeholders, and analyzing data for program evaluation. Current assessments use the Qualtrics and Qualtrics 360 platform.Manage Research Funding :
Oversee the process of managing and reviewing research funding requests from faculty and doctoral students. Participate in theOB Group:
The Postdoctoral Fellow will work closely with faculty in the Organizational Behavior group at the Olin Business School and is expected to become actively involved in the intellectual life of the department by collaborating on research, participating in group seminars, etc. The fellow is welcome to audit PhD courses.Appointment:
Full-time, 2 year initial appointment.Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have completed a PhD in a social science discipline (e.g., organizational behavior, sociology, psychology) prior to the beginning of the fellowship.Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
Successful candidates should have expertise in research design and methods; proficiency with survey design and administration, including in the use of Qualtrics and Qualtrics 360; proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Stata) and data analysis; excellent project management and writing skills.
