The North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities @ MSU is seeking applicants to serve as an Early Interventionist for the Minot Infant Development Program (MIDP). Applicants must have ND licensure in one of the disciplines listed under Minimum Qualifications below.Position Responsibilities:
The person hired for this position will be responsible for providing early intervention services to families of children enrolled in MIDP using a coach and consult model. Travel will be required primarily in the Minot region.Specific duties are listed below:
Facilitate home visits per the needs of enrolled children and assist parents/families with techniques and information. Implement applicable assessment measures to determine eligibility for services, for progress monitoring and development of outcomes, and to support project-enrolled children in the transition process with programming recommendations upon exit from early intervention services. Prepare for and facilitate Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) meetings for project-enrolled children. Complete progress and performance data on child outcomes as required by the funding agency's policies and procedures. Participate in trans-disciplinary development activities and meetings by collaborating with other program staff and team members regarding development needs (cognitive, social, education, self-help, motor, language). Collaborate with partnering agencies to support families in community engagement and participation.Minimum/Preferred Qualifications:
This position requires a minimum of an entry-level degree with ND licensure in Early Childhood Special Education, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology. Experience in working with children, writing technical reports or grants, and basic research activities is helpful but not necessary. The chosen applicant must be able to handle confidential situations, demonstrate the ability to deal effectively and interact positively with clients and constituents, and be task-oriented with diligent follow-through. The chosen applicant must have a valid driver's license and satisfy a criminal history background check prior to employment. Experience in working with children, writing technical reports or grants, and basic research activities is helpful but not necessary.
