Job Description

USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app The Bulseco Lab (Coastal MicroEco Lab) is seeking an Adjunct Research Assistant, who will support research investigating sediment microbial communities and biogeochemical cycling in coastal ecosystems. Key responsibilities include library preparation for next-generation sequencing (DNA extractions, PCR), assistance with laboratory incubations, and supporting various daily laboratory needs in addition to overall project management. Duties/Responsibilities Extract DNA from sediment and filter samples Perform PCR reactions Run gel electrophoresis Deliver/ship samples for sequencing Maintain laboratory records of ongoing projects/sample inventory Support field studies when applicable Perform routine laboratory maintenance Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Detail oriented and able to work independently At least one year of experience in a laboratory environment Familiarity with DNA sequencing Ability to work in field environments
Preferred Qualifications:
A BS or BA in a related field
