Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Computational Research Assistant (Seasonal) for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the School of Engineering. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Leverages advanced AI/ML to build predictive models for the environmental impacts of hydroclimate extremes, such as severe storms, droughts, and heatwaves. Manages Big Data analytics involving remote sensing and climate/hydrologic model outputs to develop new predictive workflows. Maintains the codebase on GitHub and present progress at weekly group meetings.

Nonexempt Salary Details $23 per hour Offer Information The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Position Status:
Part Time Working Hours 20 - 40 hours per week Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, subject to change or discontinuation, and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System.

Temporary Staff Appointment - Hourly Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Science, Math, Engineering, or a related scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong background in AI/ML. Proficiency in Python and data analysis. Excellent communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous work experience in the field.
