E04 Position Summary The Research Analyst, operating within the Office of Data Strategy (ODS), holds a critical position as a pivotal member of the ODSOPIE team. The Research Analyst is entrusted with delivering accurate, reliable data, enriched insights through analytics, and comprehensive reporting to bolster planning, policy-making, institutional accountability, and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support decision-making and provide insights for various projects and initiatives. The analyst conducts research using a variety of methods, such as surveys, interviews, and data analysis, to gather relevant information and present findings in a clear and concise manner. Duties & Responsibilities Supports institutional decision-making by developing, analyzing, and delivering data and insights in alignment with enterprise data strategy, governance, and reporting standards. Works closely with departments and data teams to ensure accurate, consistent, and actionable use of data. Develops and delivers recurring and ad hoc reports to support both operational and strategic needs. Ensures outputs are timely, relevant, and aligned with institutional priorities. Supports federal, state, and institutional reporting requirements by preparing accurate and timely data submissions. Follows established processes and documentation to ensure consistency and audit readiness. Conducts data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to student success, enrollment, and operational performance. Translates findings into clear outputs that can inform decision-making. Partners with departments to understand business needs and translate them into structured data requests, reports, and analytical outputs. Helps refine questions and ensure requests align with available data and definitions. Validates and ensures data accuracy by applying established definitions, standards, and quality checks. Works within governance frameworks to maintain consistency and trust in data. Builds and maintains dashboards and reports that provide consistent, reliable access to key metrics. Ensures outputs are user-friendly and aligned with enterprise reporting standards. Assists in integrating and preparing data from multiple sources for analysis and reporting, following defined data architecture and integration practices. Documents methodologies, definitions, and processes to support consistency, transparency, and repeatability of work. Communicates findings clearly to stakeholders at varying levels, supporting informed decision-making across the institution. Collaborates with analytics, governance, and architecture teams to ensure work aligns with enterprise data strategy, standards, and priorities. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree AND One (1) year of professional experience with data collection, analysis, reporting, and database use
Preferences:
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to understand information needs that support evidence-based decision making. Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Experience working with large datasets and multiple information sources. Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills with the ability to demonstrate statistical knowledge. Experience developing reports, dashboards, presentations, or other data-informed decision-support resources. Ability to synthesize findings and communicate results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting. Ability to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality while managing sensitive information. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and meaningful insights from complex datasets. Knowledge of research design, survey development, data collection methods, and statistical analysis techniques. Ability to learn new analytical tools, technologies, and methodologies as organizational needs evolve. Experience using PowerBI, SQL, Python, SAS Enterprise Guide, and/or SAS Viya is a plus.
