Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Research Analyst to join the Municipal Fixed Income team in New York. Our goal is to deepen our research capabilities through both fundamental credit analysis and the thoughtful use of technology and data tools. The role will work closely with Research Analysts and Portfolio Managers to generate investment ideas across tax-exempt and taxable municipal bond portfolios. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills along with an interest in applying emerging AI and data tools to enhance research efficiency and investment insights. . •
Responsibilities:
•+ Proactively research, identify and implement investment ideas across coverage sectors. + Evaluate and integrate sector trends into actionable investment recommendations. + Maintain a high quality and consistent work product with respect to financial modeling, analysis of credit/ sector trends, written credit reports and credit review presentations to Portfolio Managers. + Utilize data analysis tools and emerging AI applications to improve the efficiency, depth, and consistency of credit research. + Identify ways to automate routine workflows, organize large data sets, and enhance monitoring of credit trends across sectors. + Apply technology tools to support idea generation, scenario analysis, and surveillance of portfolio risks. + Establish and maintain industry relationships within covered sectors. •
Requirements:
•+ 2-4 years of research experience preferred. + Experience or demonstrated interest in the municipal bond market. + Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred with a strong academic record. + Proficient written and verbal communication skills sufficient to share ideas and influence portfolio outcomes. + Familiarity with AI tools, data platforms, or automation tools that can enhance research efficiency and idea generation. + Interest in applying emerging technologies to improve how data is gathered, organized, and analyzed across sectors. + Candidate must be hard-working and proactive who enjoys working in a fast-paced trading desk environment, with the ability to independently evaluate investment ideas within covered sectors. + Relationship skills to work successfully within the Municipal Fixed Income department and to work cooperatively across the Neuberger Berman organization. + Series 7 & 66 within 6 months of joining. \#LI-LN1 \#LI-Hybrid Applicants must be authorized and have the right to work in the country where the role is located without the need for current or future sponsorship. Compensation Details The salary range for this role is $115,000-$140,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package.
