Compensation Range:
$17.00 - $22.10 The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
This individual will be responsible for maintaining and improving a machine learning algorithm used to diagnose skin cancer. Tasks will be broadly split between development work on an existing machine learning pipeline which takes in clinical images and produces a diagnosis using the SlideFlow API, and supporting the deployment of the existing pipeline during clinical trials. Development tasks will include importing additional training data to train feature extractors and exploring alternative training strategies under the direction of a senior researcher. Support tasks will include investigating software bugs, misdiagnosed image sets, and making improvements to the image processing algorithms used in clinic to extract images for machine learning analysis. All tasks will be performed under supervision of Dr. Chi Haung and Dr. Michael Giacomelli with assistance from Dr. Sheriff Ibrahim.
