Plant Research Assistant

We are hiring for a Research Assistant that will be performing research on plants and how they grow under certain conditions. An ideal candidate will have some experience working with plants. A Bachelors' degree in a relevant science would be preferred, but is not required. This would be a great foot in the door for someone who wants to be involved in plant or horticulture related research!

Research Assistant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support trials for grass and seed projects. You will collaborate with a team of four biologists who design the trials, assisting them in execution. This role involves both outdoor work and greenhouse assistance. Responsibilities Prepare plots by tilling, leveling, and raking. Maintain plots through mowing, fertilizer, weed control, and fungicide application. Weed and mark plots by spray painting corners. Assist with plot layout by measuring and stringing plots. Participate in seeding and planting activities. Collect data using lightbox and transfer images to a shared drive. Crop images and take non-subjective data as needed (e.g., NDVI, soil moisture). Weigh treatments for OH and OR. Perform greenhouse maintenance, including fertilization, trimming, and pest spraying. Mix potting media for seeding and planting in the greenhouse and assist with transplanting/propagation. Qualifications Experience in farming, planting, landscaping, and/or gardening (must be from a working or research environment). Ideally will have a Bachelors or Associates Degree in a relevant science, but it's not necessarily required. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Marysville, OH.
