RESEARCH SCIENTIST
(DIGITAL
HEALTH INTERVENTIONS
) The University of Pittsburgh's School of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Research Scientist (Digital Health Interventions) to conduct scientific research in rehabilitation science and health informatics for individuals with chronic conditions and disabilities.
Duties include:
(i) conducting scientific research including designing research studies, interpreting research data using quantitative and qualitative methods, and preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication; (ii) training and mentoring students and technicians; and (iii) contributing to research proposals and grants applications. Must have a PhD degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Rehabilitation Science, Health Informatics, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in a related position. Experience must include three (3) years: (i) working on research projects in rehabilitation science, health informatics, digital health, or healthcare interventions for individuals with chronic conditions and disabilities; (ii) designing, developing, implementing, and deploying digital health interventions such as mobile health applications, web-based platforms, backend systems, and cloud-based infrastructure to meet defined research objectives; (iii) collecting and analyzing data using quantitative and/or qualitative methods such as usability testing, user interviews, or other user-centered design methods to inform system design, evaluate usability, assess user needs, or support research activities; and (iv) contributing to research dissemination through peer-reviewed publications, research reports, or technical documentation. Must also have at least one peer-reviewed publication related to rehabilitation informatics or health informatics. Experience can be concurrent.
