The School of Physical Therapy seeks an Academic Assistant to support the faculty and the Program Director with academic support for curricular needs including assessment, accreditation and research data analysis and database management. The Academic Assistant also provides support to the programs in the planning and execution of School, program, curriculum, committee, clinic, and service-related work, as well as support faculty scholarly work. This is a part-time position, scheduled to work 17.5 hours per week. The position offers a flexible work arrangement of 10 hours per week on campus and 7.5 hours per week to work from home. Data Analysis (60%)
Support faculty in organizing, analyzing and presenting data for presentation and publication
Analyze data for assessment of courses, the curricula and for accreditation purposes
Assessment (40%)
Automate assessment processes using Microsoft Forms and Power Automate
Manage course evaluation process and analysis
Manage peer and adjunct evaluation process and analysis
Support the program director in creating and automating programmatic assessment surveys
Requirements
Required:
A minimum of a high school required; a bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an office and/or academic setting
Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power Automate.
Proficiency with Zoom and MS Teams
Ability to identify and solve problems, plan for job functions, and manage time independently
Ability to be attentive to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work independently to research, define, and carry out projects
Ability to learn new techniques, troubleshoot problems, and instruct others as needed
Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure
Preferred:
Experience with SPSS data analysis software
Physical Requirements:
Typical office or administrative working conditions. Staff is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Work is primarily sedentary in nature; there are no special physical demands.
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Normal range of vision and hearing (with or without correction)
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.
