This role bridges clinical research, team management, and translation of research findings into accessible, real-world applications. The Assistant Director will lead efforts to submit grants and contribute to the implementation of brain health interventions and programs, while supporting collaborative research efforts. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in related field. Three plus years relevant professional experience. Any equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Education and Experience PhD in Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences, Applied Cognitive Neuroscience, or a closely related field. Experience serving as PI or Co-PI on clinical or intervention-based research studies. Demonstrated experience overseeing IRB processes and clinical trials regulatory requirements. Experience managing research teams and coordinating multi-person projects. Evidence of scholarly productivity in peer-reviewed journals. Other Qualifications To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead clinical and applied brain health research studies as PI or Co-Investigator on grant applications. Direct research operations, including protocol development, study implementation, regulatory oversight, data quality, and consistent program delivery. Coordinate research activities across teams, labs, and/or external partners. Supervise and mentor research staff, clinicians, and trainees. Contribute to manuscripts, grant applications, and scientific presentations. Translate research findings into accessible formats for programs, education, and community engagement. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Physical Activities Working Conditions Additional Information Hybrid remote work environment available and a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment. Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment may be required. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice.
