Associate I Company Overview Founded in 1992 by city management professionals, HdL Coren & Cone is a pre-eminent firm in the field of local government public finance and revenue enhancement. Located in Brea, California, HdL Coren and Cone (HdLCC) provides property tax analysis, forecasting and auditing services to over 300 cities and special districts in California. Job Description HdLCC is seeking an Associate to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and to provide analytical and research support to HdLCC's clients. The Associate will utilize datasets, create financial models, and summarize findings in a succinct manner for the benefit of our city and special district clients. This position will use a hybrid work schedule with in-office and remote workdays as scheduled. Opportunities for advancement will be available. Responsibilities include : § Conducting moderately complex quantitative fiscal analyses and research. § Analyzing, evaluating, summarizing, and/or reviewing data. § Reporting findings, interpreting results and/or making recommendations. § Advising, assisting and serving clients § Compiling data into actionable reports § Preparing proposals and presentation materials for prospective clients. § Utilizing available resources to resolve inquiries including the Company's in-house property tax program, county reports, county websites and internet searches. § Providing critical analysis to the clients. § Using independent decision making within established policies and procedural guidelines. This may include interpreting policies, analyzing, and resolving procedural problems, making recommendations, coordinating projects, and setting priorities. § Performing other related duties as assigned and/or required Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with co-workers and clients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage time wisely with sometimes overlapping deadlines.
  • Ability to leverage technology tools with substantial experience and mastery of Office Suite programs.
  • Experience in administrative functions, finance and budgeting preferred. Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility preferred.
  • Previous experience working in or with public agencies. Salary Ranges for this career path: Associate I $115,000
