IP Patent Docket Specialist Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP parental leave, paid holidays, sick time, long term disability, 401(k) United States, California, Anaheim May 12, 2026 Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Docket Specialist to join our Intellectual Property Patent Support Unit (PATSU). Under the supervision of the Docket Supervisor, the Docket Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining all areas of the patent computerized docket system. The Docket Specialist will also have daily contact with and receive guidance from the practice group lawyers and staff they support. Morgan Lewis recognizes the benefits of supporting flexible working arrangements. This position can reside in either of the following locations: San Francisco, Silicon Valley (Palo Alto), Orange County, Century City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington D.C., with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Flexibility to work overtime is preferred.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinates all areas of the CPI database including: All information pertaining to each specific application and docket due dates, and remarks. Incoming domestic and foreign client related communications. Incoming Patent and Trademark Office communications filed in the Patent office. Processing delivery of incoming electronic communications pursuant to departmental procedures. Providing docket, status, and maintenance reports to patent personnel and lawyers.Experience and qualifications:
High school diploma and a minimum of one (1) year of docketing experience or equivalent knowledge of patent processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional attention to detail Time-management and organizational skills to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work well under pressure in a collaborative team environment Benefits / Why Join Us Morgan Lewis offers attractive benefits and competitive salaries. For positions in Chicago, IL, the salary range for this job posting is: $62,000.00
- $99,200.00. For positions in Seattle, WA and Washington, D.C., the salary range for this job posting is: $64,700.00
- $103,475.00. For positions in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, CA, the salary range for this job posting is: $70,070.00
- $112,093.
Employees will also receive:
9 paid holidays per calendar year, 2 personal days per year, and up to 20 days of vacation per year. In accordance with state applicable law, eligible employees will earn 1 paid sick leave hour for 30 hours worked. Eligible employees may also take up to five days off for bereavement leave, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave per year and up to 10 weeks of paid pregnancy disability leave per pregnancy. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
