Pay:
$43-53/hr on W2
Summary:
Tech giant client is seeking a Temporary Research Scientist to support applied research and prototyping efforts across data-driven and machine learning initiatives. In this time-bound assignment, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners to explore, analyze, and validate approaches that can inform product and engineering decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Focus on video understanding related data processing - will need to know python, C++. Know basic VLLM knowledge Design and execute exploratory analyses and experiments using Python and SQL to generate actionable insights. Prototype, train, and evaluate machine learning models using PyTorch. Build and iterate on inference and serving prototypes, including work with vLLM where applicable. Develop clear technical documentation of methods, assumptions, and results. Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including recommendations and limitations. Follow applicable security and privacy practices when working with data and systems.
Required Qualifications:
1-3 yrs of experience required Proficiency in Python for data analysis and model development. Proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming structured datasets. Hands-on experience with PyTorch for training and evaluating models. Experience conducting applied research, experimentation, and/or model development in an industry or academic setting. Familiarity with modern LLM tooling and inference approaches (including vLLM or similar frameworks). Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document and explain results clearly. Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time. Basic ability to analyse data and accurately document and record results.
Education/Experience:
