Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit Since 1966, researchers at the Carolina Population Center have pioneered data collection and research techniques that move population science forward by emphasizing life course approaches, longitudinal surveys, the integration of biological measurement into social surveys, and attention to context and environment. We are also at the forefront of creating interdisciplinary training programs that integrate approaches from the social and biological sciences, building research capacity and training the next generation of scholars. Our faculty fellows address pressing research questions about population dynamics, fertility, health, mortality, migration, and the environment. //www.cpc.unc.edu/about/ Position Summary The Qualitative Research Associate will support qualitative coding and manuscript preparation for the SAFI-FP social accountability study in Kisumu County, Kenya. Responsibilities will include reviewing study materials and codebooks, coding de-identified qualitative transcripts, writing brief analytic memos or transcript summaries, contributing to coding discussions with the research team, and supporting synthesis of findings for manuscript development. The position will be remote, and UNC will provide access to the qualitative analysis software needed for the work. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Management Preferences Experience with qualitative research methods, including qualitative coding or thematic analysis. Familiarity with sexual and reproductive health, global health, health systems, or implementation research. Strong writing and communication skills.
