Job Description Summary:

POSITION SUMMARY
Perform research and extension of an advanced and often independent nature for Rhode Island Sea Grant's (RISG) Extension Team with a focus on coastal resilience. Provide support to RI Sea Grant's blue economy, energy, and fisheries / aquaculture portfolios.
Duties and Responsibilities:
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a principal investigator to plan, coordinate and facilitate trainings, workshops, study tours, and meetings (in-person and virtual) at local and regional scales on issues related to coastal resilience, fisheries, aquaculture, blue economy or energy issues. Deliver trainings, workshops, etc. to expert stakeholders as well as the general public. Lead the implementation and dissemination of research activities related to ocean and coastal issues, with an emphasis on community science and the integration of community research into scientific research, management, and policy initiatives. Direct the creation of communication materials around marine science research and coastal management related information for project stakeholders. Develop proposals, technical reports, and professional articles. Instruct and supervise graduate students and others. Participate in selected RISG Extension activities to gain familiarity with additional program areas, including Energy, Aquaculture, and Fisheries.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work evenings and weekends as necessary. Perform additional duties as required.
