Job Description:
InGenesis is currently seeking a Research Assistant - Culinary Medicine to work for our client. In this role, you will support dietary clinical trials in the cancer setting, receive on-the-job training, supportive supervision, and established standard operating procedures (SOPs) to successfully perform assigned responsibilities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate preparation and quality control of research-designated diets to support clinical trial integrity, patient safety, and study outcomes. Responsibilities Prepare research-designated diets that are precisely planned by dietitians to meet the requirements of each study protocol. Use electronic balances, kitchen scales, and food service equipment to ensure quality control for standardized diets. Maintain sanitary standards and cleanliness of work areas while performing duties. Communicate and document food production schedules and quality assurance activities. Utilize computer-based systems (Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel) to support documentation and communication processes. Prepare food items using correct measuring, weighing, vacuum sealing, and quality control (QC) procedures. Safely package prepared items for shipping or courier services. Assist with requisition of food and supplies to maintain protocol-specific inventory. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Basic Science or related field. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills using computer-based systems. Ability to work with interdisciplinary research teams, including dietitians and scientific investigators. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict research protocols. Ability to handle food preparation in a controlled setting and work in a structured environment. Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain clean and organized workspace. Ability to prepare food items based on strict dietary requirements, restrictions, and/or specific gram weights. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a clinical research setting, hospital, or food service environment. Experience with food safety regulations and research protocols (training and educational resources necessary to achieve required certification will be provided).
Work Environment:
Position is based in a controlled metabolic kitchen laboratory setting supporting clinical research studies.
Physical Requirements:
Requires extended periods of standing and active food preparation.
