Job Description
The Department of Earth Science seeks a student research assistant to support a collaborative project with the University of Buea, Cameroon. The project examines climate risks and resilience measures across Cameroon's coastal, highland, and savanna regions. The position is expected to run for 15 weeks during Summer 2026, with approximately 10 hours per week. The student will Assist with literature review. Data collection and organization. GIS mapping. Basic data analysis. Preparation of project reports, figures, tables, and presentations. The student may also help compare climate risks and community resilience strategies across the three regions. Must be a current UVU student Must have GIS and Programing skills.
Preferred qualifications:
interest in climate change, environmental science, geography, GIS, or sustainability; Basic skills in Excel, GIS, or data organization Strong attention to detail. Good communication skills.
