Key job responsibilities As an Applied Scientist in our team, you will be responsible for the research, design, and development of new AI technologies for personalization. You will adopt or invent new machine learning and analytical techniques in the realm of recommendations, information retrieval, and large language models. You will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product partners locally and abroad. Your work will include inventing, experimenting with, and launching new features, products, and systems.

A day in the life You will solve real-world problems by analyzing large-scale customer data, generating insights and hypotheses, executing experiments, and developing statistical and ML models. The team is driven by business needs, which requires collaboration with other Scientists, Engineers, and Product Managers across the organization. You communicate findings clearly to influence technical and product decisions. You innovate on behalf of the customer and build models that improve personalization experiences across Amazon. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of building models for business application experience PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
