Job Description

Key Responsibilities 1.
Risk Monitoring & Deep-Dive Analysis Real-Time Tracking:
Monitor regional and global macro-political shifts, elections, regulatory changes, civil unrest, armed conflicts, and international sanctions.
Thematic Research:
Author deep-dive research reports on country-specific macroeconomic trajectories, great power competition in the Middle East (e.g., US-China-EU dynamics), and regional integration (e.g., GCC alignments).
Impact Assessment:
Translate complex geopolitical events into tangible business impacts on specific sectors such as Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, Logistics, and Financial Markets. 2.
Reporting & Strategic Briefing Regular Deliverables:
Produce daily/weekly geopolitical risk briefs, country threat assessments, and quarterly/annual global risk outlooks.
Executive Briefings:
Deliver concise, actionable oral briefings to C-suite executives, board members, or external clients (government entities and multinational corporations), turning abstract risks into strategic foresight. 3.
Scenario Planning & Modeling Scenario Construction:
Develop scenario-planning matrices and "Black Swan" contingency frameworks to help the organization mitigate sudden geopolitical shocks.
Country Risk Ratings:
Maintain and update internal country risk index models to guide capital allocation and operational security. Skills Qualifications & Skills 1.
Educational Background Minimum Requirement:
Master's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Middle Eastern Studies, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field. (A Bachelor's degree with extensive, proven field experience may be considered). 2.
Experience & Technical Skills Experience:
3 to 5 years (7+ years for Senior roles) of experience within a global think tank, political risk consultancy (e.g., Control Risks, Eurasia Group), sovereign wealth fund, or major financial institution.
Language Proficiency:
Fluency in English is mandatory (primary working language). Proficiency in Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking) is highly preferred or required for primary source analysis and local stakeholder engagement.
Regional Expertise:
Exceptional, nuanced understanding of MENA political structures, tribal and sectarian dynamics, and the regional energy-security nexus. 3.
Soft Skills Critical Thinking:
Ability to cut through information warfare and media noise to extract weak signals and objective truths.
Crisis Delivery:
Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver high-quality, analytical outputs during fast-moving international crises.
