- 12/13, Integrated Primary Prevention Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Coast Guard Academy in NEW LONDON, Connecticut.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. EDUCATION
Basic Requirements Degree:
Have a degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Have a combination ofeducation and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Have four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. AND To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce Training and Education Development and Oversight and Prevention Training and Education. To qualify at the GS- 13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Prevention Training and Education - Experience reviewing and analyzing social science research, scientific methodologies, training theory, and skill development to enhance the delivery of primary prevention policies, programs, and practices aimed at reducing risk factors and increasing protective factors.
