Salary:
$2,335.50/month minimum
Other Conditions:
To begin August 1, 2026 pending position clearance and availability of funds. Temporary position not to exceed July 31, 2027.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administrative, programmatic, publication and research support for the Center for South Asia Studies (CSAS). Maintain CSAS website and social media accounts. Produce weekly newsletter and other communications as needed. Assist in organizing the CSAS Spring Symposium.
Minimum Qualifications:
Acceptance or enrollment in a Masters or Ph.D. program at the University of Hawai'i and in good academic standing. Demonstrated ability to solve technical and logistical issues. Experience with maintaining and updating websites (familiarity with basic html, Wordpress and/or Cascade), desktop publication software, Adobe InDesign and Mail Chimp weekly newsletter templates or Constant Contact templates. Ability to use social media to publicize CSAS. Prior experience with organizing academic events. Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally.
Desirable Qualifications:
Familiarity with humanities and social science research about South Asia and South Asian Studies. Working knowledge of a South Asian language. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
