The Center for China Analysis (CCA) is part of the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI), a think- and do- tank with a policy-solving mandate that tackles major policy challenges confronting the Asia-Pacific in security and diplomacy; trade, investment, and innovation; climate and energy; and society, technology, and public health. Established in 2022, CCA is committed to decoding China's complexities with an "inside-out" approach by offering evidence-based, independent, and policy-relevant analyses with a balanced, holistic, and human-centered focus, covering Chinese domestic politics; economy and technology; foreign policy and national security; climate, energy and the environment; society, public health, and education.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Track and research current issues covering Chinese domestic politics; economy and technology; foreign policy and national security; and society;
  • Track and collect data on CCA's output including research papers, public and private events, op-eds, press hits, social media impressions, and video views, etc. and assist in drafting internal newsletters and presentations for internal and external use;
  • Draft and edit briefs, memos, background material, literature reviews, etc. in preparation for trips, meetings, and events;
  • Compile newsletters and articles for weekly internal news roundups;
  • Maintain and update internal databases;
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for public and private events, including drafting invitations, agendas, participant lists, event blurbs, etc.;
  • Schedule internal and external in-person and online meetings and take meetings minutes and prepare summary reports as needed;
  • Other duties, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Candidates are expected to commit to a minimum of 18 hours per week for a period of at least 12 weeks;
  • Current graduate or undergraduate student;
  • Familiarity with China policy issues through previous academic study and/or internship experience;
  • Must have the ability to work independently;
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and social media platforms;
  • Flexibility with handling diverse tasks;
  • Advanced/native fluency in English and Chinese;
  • Must be available to work in person at the Asia Society's New York office as well as have U.
