We are seeking students, early-career professionals, and interdisciplinary thinkers to join a disability-led system where research, daily life, and care are intentionally integrated. This is not a traditional role. It is a live research environment. What This Is A hybrid position combining: Applied research / professional development Hands-on system building across EdenLab programs Structured personal care support (training provided) Care is not separate from the work. It is part of how we design better systems. Available Pathways Applicants may align with one or more tracks: 1. Medical & Scientific Research (Microbiology / Biofilm) Support early-stage testing for a reusable medical device Assist with lab outreach, protocol development, and documentation Translate scientific processes into real-world applications 2. Care Infrastructure & Technology (App / Systems Design) Contribute to development of decentralized care platforms Support UX thinking, product logic, and systems mapping Work on real-world implementation of social infrastructure tools 3. Law, Policy & Systems Advocacy Research disability law, healthcare policy, and compliance frameworks Support positioning for regulatory pathways and public commentary Help shape long-term structural change strategies 4. Global Research & Comparative Care Models Investigate international care systems and alternative frameworks Contribute to EdenLab's Comparative Care Analysis initiative Support synthesis into reports, decks, and funding narratives 5. Media, Narrative & Cultural Production Support storytelling, documentation, and public-facing work Participate in SXSW and other cultural activations Help translate research into narrative and audience experience Care Component (Required for All Fellows) Training provided. 10-15 minute catheterization assistance (structured + teachable) Light hygiene, positioning, and daily support tasks Calm, respectful presence during vulnerable moments This is not separate from the work —it is foundational to EdenLab's design philosophy.
