The Analyst will lead research coordination, methodology design, implementation, data analysis and dissemination. The position will entail attending meetings and regularly engaging with community partners and key stakeholders in critical workforce development in Los Angeles and California. The research includes surveys, interviews, literature reviews, and government data sources. The Analyst will work with a research team and together prepare reports and visually appealing materials for varied audiences. Specific responsibilities include supporting the design of research methodology, coordinating various components of the research such as developing and monitoring team workplans and overseeing fielding and data collection, conducting research tasks such as literature reviews, preparing data for analysis such as cleaning datasets, analyzing data using software, preparing and summarizing data for reports, report drafting, and supporting dissemination to broad audiences. Salary & Compensation UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications 3-5 years Demonstrated research experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required) And Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. (Required) Project coordination experience, including adherence to project timelines, liaising with partners, overseeing fielding and data plans. (Required) For quantitative, experience includes familiarity with survey and census datasets, survey platforms (i.e. Qualtrics), and statistical software (i.e. STATA or R.) For qualitative, experience includes experience conducting interviews and focus groups, coding, and using analysis software (i.e. Dedoose). (Required) Ability to conduct literature reviews on a wide range of topics, industries, and policies. (Required) Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work well with community partners, stakeholders, and academics through community-lead research and students as well as labor leaders and rank and file workers. (Required) Verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize and present complex information in a clear and concise manner. (Required) Demonstrated ability to write and edit engaging, clear, precise, and grammatically correct reports and articles, with strong attention to detail and quality control, for scholarly, policy, and popular audiences. (Required) Ability to take initiative and manage workload with minimal supervision. (Required) Master's degree in public policy, economics, sociology, or related discipline. (Preferred) Coursework and/or applied research experience in industrial relations, labor economics, and/or labor market analysis. (Preferred) Familiarity with Labor Center professional goals and objectives, programs and constituency groups. (Preferred) Demonstrated quantitative or qualitative research skills, such as developing protocols, conducting surveys, focus groups, or interviews, cleaning and analyzing data, and summarizing findings. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor's Degree In related field (Sociology, Labor Studies, Political Science, etc.) and / or equivalent experience / training (Required) Must possess, upon hire, and maintain a valid CA noncommercial Class C License in accordance with the California (CA) Department of Motor Vehicles.
