To foster a deepening understanding of the past by collecting, preserving, and sharing the historically significant memories of individuals according to the highest ethical and professional standards; to work with scholars across disciplines to design and execute innovative research projects; to equip community groups in their oral history endeavors; and to mentor students in the interdisciplinary field of oral history.
Job Summary:
Primarily to serve as transcriber of oral history interviews (including proofreading and audit-checking). Secondarily to serve as office assistant on a variety of tasks as needed.
Job Function:
Transcribe audio recordings from oral history projects that may be collected by the institute Audit-check/proofread transcripts and research spellings of names and terms utilizing departmental and online resources Other duties as assigned: Assist with mail, including journal distribution Post flyers around campus for upcoming events
