Job Description Position Summary The Department of Soil and Crop Sciences at Colorado State University seeks applications for temporary part-time or full-time Postdoctoral Fellow positions that may become available through the year. Fields of research include but are not limited to: Crop Breeding and Genetics; Soil Ecology; Soil Health; Agroecology; Microbiome Science; Biogeochemistry. Postdoctoral Fellows work under the direction of individual faculty members and contribute to ongoing research activities specific to each lab. Duties, funding source, appointment length, and work modality (in-person, hybrid, or remote) vary by faculty lab. The Department of Soil and Crop Sciences is focused on education, research, and outreach to solve the world's most pressing food production issues and crucial matters about Earth, its ecosystems, and their services. Salary Range $60,000-$80,000 Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications Essential Job Duties Essential job duties vary depending on the hiring laboratory and research program, but may include: Conducting laboratory, field, or computational research activities Collecting, managing, and analyzing research data Assisting with experimental design and protocol implementation Maintaining laboratory equipment, materials, and documentation Contributing to manuscripts, reports, and presentations Collaborating with faculty, staff, graduate students, and other research personnel Specific duties will be defined at the time of hire by the supervising faculty member. Conditions of Employment Pre-employment criminal background check (required for new hires) Supervision This position reports to a faculty member within the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences Minimum Qualifications Completed PhD or equivalent degree from an accredited institution by start date of employment.
