POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Junior Assistant Agronomist to support our Agronomy and Cultivation teams in maintaining optimal plant health, nutrient management, and pest control within our cultivation facilities. This role combines hands-on greenhouse work with technical agronomy support, including plant health monitoring, fertigation preparation, laboratory sampling, and administrative coordination of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, passionate about plant science, and comfortable working in a dynamic greenhouse production environment while supporting research trials and cultivation operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plant Health Monitoring & Scouting Conduct routine scouting for pests, diseases, and plant stress across cultivation rooms. Track and document plant health indicators and environmental observations. Fertigation & Nutrient Management Prepare and mix nutrient solutions for fertigation according to established schedules. Maintain accurate nutrient mixing logs and fertigation records. IPM & Chemical Management Maintain records related to IPM activities and technician scheduling. Maintain proper inventory tracking and documentation for chemical usage and regulatory compliance. Research & Plant Trials Assist with setup and tracking of plant trials and agronomic experiments. Monitor trial plants and collect data related to growth performance and nutrient response.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Associate's degree (AA) in a STEM-related field such as biology, chemistry, or plant science. Minimum 1 year of production greenhouse experience in a leadership or supervisory role. Basic understanding of plant health indicators, pest identification, and cultivation protocols. Ability to follow safety procedures when working with pesticides and agricultural chemicals. Strong documentation and organizational skills. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Horticulture, Soil Science, Crop Science, or related field. Experience working with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs. Familiarity with fertigation systems and nutrient formulation. Experience with laboratory sampling protocols or plant health testing. Cannabis or food crop production experience.
