Job Description

Our client is a global, research-driven pharmaceutical manufacturer focusing on treatment options for diseases and conditions for which there is no satisfactory treatment option to date. The company is looking for a Scientist II - Histology & Tissue Processing to join the team. This is an amazing opportunity to work on cutting edge treatments and make a difference! Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist II - Histology & Tissue Processing to support tissue-based research through advanced histological techniques. The role involves tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and protocol optimization to support imaging and biomedical research projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with researchers to generate high-quality, reproducible experimental data while maintaining strict laboratory standards and documentation practices.
Job type:
1 year contract Pay rate: $39/hr.- $42/hr.
Location:
Ridgefield, CT Key Responsibilities Perform tissue processing to prepare high-quality samples for downstream analysis. Conduct paraffin embedding and frozen tissue sectioning (cryosectioning). Carry out histological staining procedures, including: Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Immunofluorescence (IF) Standard histological stains Troubleshoot, optimize, and validate tissue preparation and staining protocols. Collaborate with research staff to support experimental design, execution, and data interpretation. Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including procedures, results, and inventory. Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards, quality control procedures, and institutional guidelines. Required Qualifications Master's degree or PhD in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field. Bachelor's degree may be considered with significant relevant laboratory experience. 3-5 years of hands-on experience in tissue processing, sectioning, and histological staining in a research or clinical laboratory environment. Proficiency in paraffin embedding and cryosectioning techniques. Strong experience with histological staining methods, including IHC and IF. Ability to troubleshoot and optimize laboratory protocols. Familiarity with data analysis and interpretation of experimental results. Experience with HPLC, ocular tissue, or skin tissue is preferred. Experience with 3D printing is a plus. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced research environment. INDBH #LI-AH1
