Full-Time About the Position Established and growing recycling company seeking a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Scrap Metal Laborer / Buyer to join our team. This role combines customer service, material inspection, metal purchasing, and general yard operations. The right candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment, interacting with customers, learning different metal grades, and helping keep operations running efficiently. Experience in recycling, construction, warehouse operations, equipment operation, or metals is preferred — but we are willing to train the right person with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Responsibilities Evaluate and purchase ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal materials (Training Provided) Identify and grade different types of metals accurately (Training Provided) Assist customers in a professional and respectful manner Build strong relationships with contractors, businesses, and walk-in customers Accurately record purchases, weights, and pricing information (Training provided) Work with the operations team to keep material flowing efficiently Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all company safety and environmental procedures Assist with general labor and yard operations as needed

Qualifications:

✔ Strong work ethic and dependable attendance ✔ Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment ✔ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs ✔ Basic computer and data entry skills ✔ Good communication and customer service skills ✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team ✔ Experience with scrap metal, recycling, forklifts, or industrial work preferred but not required
