In this energetic role, you will assist surgical teams by preparing sterile equipment, maintaining aseptic techniques, and ensuring all surgical supplies are ready for use. Your attention to detail and commitment to infection control will directly contribute to a safe and efficient operating environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced hospital setting, supporting diverse specialties including trauma, pediatrics, critical care, and ambulatory surgery. Responsibilities Prepare and organize sterile surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to procedures. Assist surgeons and operating room staff during surgeries by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field. Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols throughout all procedures. Monitor vital signs and patient status during surgeries when necessary, supporting patient care teams. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms. Collect data related to surgical procedures for quality assurance and analysis purposes. Support the cleaning, sterilization, and proper storage of surgical instruments following hospital policies. Qualifications Proven experience as a Scrub Technician or in a similar OR support role within a hospital or ambulatory surgery center. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Experience working in Level I Trauma Centers, Level II trauma centers, PICUs (Pediatric Intensive Care Units), or ICU settings is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency with medical-surgical procedures, suturing techniques, and aseptic technique standards. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are a plus. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or other hospital information systems for documentation purposes. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to monitor vital signs and recognize signs of patient distress promptly. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency medicine or acute care units. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in fast-paced settings.
