Seasonal Groundskeeper / Houseman / Maintenance Technician Play Park Hospitality Tahoe Vista, CA 96148 Position Overview Play Park Hospitality is seeking a hardworking and reliable Seasonal Groundskeeper / Houseman / Maintenance Technician to support the overall appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of our hotel properties. This position plays a key role in maintaining outdoor spaces, assisting housekeeping operations, supporting preventative maintenance efforts, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in property appearance, works well independently, and is willing to assist across multiple departments as operational needs require. Key Responsibilities Groundskeeping & Exterior Maintenance Maintain cleanliness and presentation of hotel grounds, parking lots, walkways, landscaping, and outdoor guest areas Perform seasonal landscaping duties including raking, sweeping, watering, snow removal, salting, and debris removal Empty exterior trash receptacles and maintain cleanliness around dumpsters and back-of-house areas Set up and maintain outdoor furniture, fire pits, signage, and guest activity spaces Monitor property for safety hazards and report issues immediately Houseman Duties Deliver linens, towels, and supplies to housekeeping teams Assist with room inspections and preparation of guest rooms Remove trash, dirty linens, and bulk items from guest floors and common areas Support housekeeping with deep cleaning projects and public area cleanliness Respond to guest requests including extra towels, amenities, luggage assistance, and room deliveries Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage rooms and supply areas Maintenance Responsibilities Complete basic maintenance repairs including light bulbs, minor plumbing, painting, furniture repairs, PTAC cleaning, and fixture replacement Assist with preventative maintenance projects and property inspections Support maintenance team with repairs, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination as needed Maintain maintenance logs and communicate repair status to leadership Ensure tools, equipment, and workspaces remain clean and organized Assist with emergency response situations including weather events, power outages, and guest incidents Qualifications Previous hotel, maintenance, landscaping, or janitorial experience preferred Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions Basic understanding of maintenance tools and equipment Strong work ethic and positive attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed Valid driver's license preferred Performance Expectations Maintain hotel grounds and public areas to Play Park Hospitality brand standards Complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely Respond to guest and operational requests promptly and professionally Support overall property cleanliness and maintenance goals Demonstrate teamwork, accountability, and reliability Contribute to positive guest reviews through attention to detail and property presentation Physical Requirements Standing and walking for extended periods Frequent bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions Comfortable using ladders, hand tools, and maintenance equipment Brand Voice & Culture At Play Park Hospitality, we believe memorable guest experiences start with a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
